Madhya Pradesh NEET UG Counselling 2026 – Complete Admission Guide

Madhya Pradesh (MP) is considered a “Closed State” in the medical admission landscape. This means that only students with a valid MP Domicile can participate in the state-level counselling for both Government and Private medical college seats.

If you are aiming for an MBBS or BDS seat in Madhya Pradesh, this guide provides all the critical details regarding eligibility, registration, and the unique reservation policies of the state.

1. Important Overview

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Bhopal is the official authority responsible for conducting the NEET UG admission process in the state.

  • Counselling Authority: DME, Madhya Pradesh

  • Official Website: dme.mponline.gov.in

  • Admission Mode: Online Centralized Counselling

  • Quota Covered: 85% State Quota (Govt Colleges) and 100% seats in Private Colleges.

2. Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the MP NEET UG 2026 counselling, a candidate must fulfill the following:

  • NEET 2026 Qualified: Must meet the minimum qualifying percentile set by NTA.

  • Domicile Requirement: Mandatory MP Domicile for all State Quota seats.

  • Educational Qualification: Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum of 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC).

  • Age Limit: Minimum 17 years as of December 31, 2026.

3. Unique Reservation: Government School Quota (5%)

Madhya Pradesh offers a special 5% Horizontal Reservation for students who have completed their schooling from a government institution. This quota allows eligible candidates to secure seats in top government medical colleges at significantly lower NEET scores compared to the general category.
