Rajasthan NEET UG Counselling 2026: Dates, Registration, Seat Matrix & Admission Process

Rajasthan NEET UG Counselling is the state-level online admission process directed by the State Counselling Authority , NEET UG Medical & Dental Admission/Counseling Board) along with RUHS, Jaipur. It administers the allotment of 85% State Quota seats for MBBS and BDS courses in government, private, and management-quota medical colleges across Rajasthan. The remaining 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats are succeeded separately by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).Key phases of the counselling comprise online registration via the portal, book of the state merit list, dynamic choice-filling & locking, seat allotment marks, and physical document verification at the selected reporting center (e.g., SMS Medical College, Jaipur). The process typically durations four distinct phases: Round 1, Round 2, the Mop-Up Round, and a Final Stray Vacancy Round. Eligibility requires valid NEET UG scores, required Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English in 10+2, and a valid Rajasthan state domicile certificate.

Rajasthan Step-by-Step Counselling ditels

1.Portal Registration (Part 1 & Part 2): Requires Rajasthan SSO ID.

Candidates must log in via the official Rajasthan single sign-on system (sso.rajasthan.gov.in) or the dedicated state counselling portal. You must complete a two-part application: Part 1 captures basic personal and NEET UG details, while Part 2 handles document uploads (such as category and domicile certificates).

2.Counselling & Security Fee Payment: Mandatory for Choice Filling.

Pay the non-refundable registration fee (~₹2,000 for General; ~₹1,200 for SC/ST/OBC). To unlock choice filling, you must also deposit the refundable security fee. This varies heavily depending on your targets: lower for government colleges (~₹10,000) and significantly higher for private medical colleges (~₹2,000,000).

3.State Merit List Publication: Determines Allotment Priority.

After registrations close, the Board releases a provisional State Merit List. This list filters out non-eligible candidates and ranks all registered state-domicile students solely against each other.

4.Online Choice Filling & Locking: Critical Strategic Step.

The preference portal opens. You manually add your desired choices of government, RajMES (society-run), and private medical/dental colleges. If you do not manually lock your choices before the deadline, the portal will automatically lock whatever order is saved on your dashboard.

5.Seat Allotment & Document Verification: Physical Reporting Required.

Allotment results are generated based on your state rank and choice order. If a seat is allocated, you must download the allotment letter and report in person to the centralized nodal centre—typically SMS Medical College, Jaipur—with all original documents and your first-year tuition fee.

Rajasthan NEET UG Counselling: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Quick answers to the most common queries regarding seat types, reservation rules, and documentation workflows.

Yes, but with restrictions. Non-domicile candidates are not eligible for the 85% State Quota Government seats. However, they can apply for Management (Payment) seats and NRI seats in Private medical colleges from Round 1 onwards. Any vacant Management seats in Government/RajMES colleges are opened to non-domiciles only in Round 3 (Mop-Up) or Stray Vacancy rounds.

The differences come down to fees and cutoffs:
Government Seats (Free Seats): These have a very low annual tuition fee (approx. ₹70,340) and close at high NEET scores/ranks.
Management Seats (Payment Seats): These are available in RajMES (society-run) colleges, carry a much higher annual tuition fee (approx. ₹9.57 Lakhs), and have significantly lower cutoff ranks. The degree, syllabus, and college campus remain exactly the same.

Yes, absolutely. Rajasthan is one of the few states where the counselling board strictly requires your Class 11 marksheet during physical reporting at the nodal center (SMS Medical College, Jaipur). It must clearly prove that you studied and passed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in Class 11.

The "Free Exit" option is only available in Round 1. If you are allotted a seat in Round 1 and choose not to report or join the college, you can walk away without any penalty, and your security deposit will be fully refunded. However, from Round 2 onwards, there is no free exit—if you are allotted a seat and do not join, your security deposit (up to ₹2 Lakhs to ₹5 Lakhs) will be permanently forfeited.

Yes. The Rajasthan counselling portal completely wipes out previous choices before the start of every new round. Fresh choice-filling and locking are mandatory for every single round (Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3). If you do not fill fresh choices in a subsequent round, you will not be considered for allotment in that round.

If you choose not to fulfill the mandatory 2-year rural service bond post-MBBS, you will have to pay the complete bond penalty of ₹10,00,000 (10 Lakhs) to the Government of Rajasthan. Your original academic documents will remain in the custody of the college administration until this penalty is paid in full.
